*Styler – Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea Curl Defining Creme
So I got 3 of the Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea line products about a week ago from Sally’s. I’m upset that the Sally’s locations at 15 mile and 13 mile seem to be always out of the Edge Control Glaze as I really wanted to try this too!
The price is great as each item retails between $7-9. My hair loves anything with coconut or shea butter so in my book this line should be a sure winner. I’ve also been dying to try it since I saw Nikki Mae’s results on YouTube and the results of BacktoCurly on her blog. The line is sulfate, paraben, and silicone free.
Lets get to my results! I call myself doing the LOC method (liquid, oil, cream)….
Cowash Cleanser – great slip and moisture punch! My hair was extremely moist and soft after rinsing this out. I will definitely repurchase this. This was just as good if not better than the As I Am Naturally’s Coconut Cowash which is another favorite of mine as far as Cowash conditioner cleansers. I smoothed this on my strands and used my Tangle Teezer (really!!!-where has this been all my life??) to detangle distribute the product and massaged my scalp to get rid of buildup. I used 1/6th of the 16 oz jar it appears for 1 application.
(Ingredients – Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propanediol,
Butryospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Vegetable Oil, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetrimonium Chloride, Guar
Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, Panthenyl Hydroxypropyl, Steardimonium Chloride, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Citric Acid, Fragrance (Parfum),
Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol)
I divided my damp hair into 4 sections and applied a little sweet almond oil to each section to seal in the moisture…
Leave In Conditioner – this was a light cream that had amazing slip and went on pretty easy…it was similar to my Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in. I didn’t have to use much. This could definitely be a repurchase but I don’t use leave in’s heavily so we shall see…this came in an 8 oz jar.
(Ingredients – Water (Aqua), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Polyquaternium-37, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PEG-50 Shea Butter, Glycerin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Panthenyl Hydroxypropyl Steardimonium Chloride, Sodium PCA, Polyquaternium-7, Fragrance (Parfum), PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol)
Curl Defining Creme – this cream is very dense and thick and I could tell that a little goes a long way as I used my denman brush to distribute the product through my hair. This also came in a 16 oz jar. I like the shine from this product on my damp hair which absorbed this cream on contact as my hair loves puddings and cream Stylers. I can tell that if I want to do a wash and go that I would need to use more product on each section so I decided to attempt a twist out instead as this is my first time using the product. One thing about this product I noticed is the high content of vegetable oil (filler?) >>>I hope this doesn’t make a greasy mess. Final Verdict is out until I take out my twists tomorrow. Ill update this post then at the end of the day…

I ended up with my usual 14 twists…
Update – okay I unraveled my twists and I was not impressed as far as my definition. I think I did something wrong or rather I’m blaming user error. I don’t think I should have applied the sweet almond oil before the leave in. I probably should have applied it last. I’m going to retry without that step by eliminating or doing it last or just using the oil on my ends only not the whole hair shaft. I’ll post another review as far as round 2.
