About Me:

I am a Millennial born and raised in Detroit, MI. I am graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration concentrating in Finance and Economics. I also hold a  Master’s in Finance from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Ah, but yes, I am passionate about natural hair, self love, and confidence!

I am also a Licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Michigan specializing in natural hair, long hair (all textures), hair color (i.e. ombre, balayage, color melt, somber, etc), natural hair silk out (silk press), natural updo’s, twist extensions (i.e. bomb, spring, Havana, marley, Nubian twists, etc), and healthy hair maintenance. You may wonder where my passion for natural hair came from. My natural hair story began years ago but lets jump to 2012 when I randomly big chopped all of my arm pit length heat damaged hair off and became an “accidental natural”!  That’s how this blog was birthed to vent my frustrations and successes of my natural hair journey!

In addition to this blog I also curate the Embrace the Natural You natural hair care product line birthed in 2014! See more here! I also manage the Annual Embrace the Natural You Natural Hair and Beauty Expo which began back in 2013 and is typically held in Midtown, Detroit’s cultural center, in Detroit, MI!
