…and so my obsession with Eden Bodyworks continues! I’ve fallen in love with their affordably priced leave in conditioner and Curl Defining Creme in the Coconut Shea line. I’ve also been dibbling and dabbling with the Pudding they have and a review will come soon regarding that!
Anyhoo, I randomly went to Sally’s Beauty Supply and stumbled upon the Eden Bodyworks Coconut Shea All Natural Hair Masque. They are sold in little 1.75 oz packets for like $2.59 each I think. I had seen them on Curlmart.com along with three other new items in the line but I wanted to wait to get my hands on it on the ground to touch the packet and see if 1 pouch was enough for my hair.
Well…1 pack was enough! Good thing I ended up picking up two pouches! I think the pouch is reasonably priced for the amount of product in it since 8 oz would be about $12 which is in line with other all natural deep conditioners.
As far as the scent…it smells like all the other products in the line which is coconut-like and very lightly scented.
As far as performance…I applied the masque to sectioned damp freshly co-washed and detangled hair which is a good thing because the masque is very very thick and it’s not for detangling clearly. It was so thick that I could only really smooth it on and the closest thing in texture I can compare it too is peanut butter (yep-it’s that thick!)
I typically don’t rely on my deep conditioners to detangle anyway and that property is a plus with any DC! I was able to smooth it on my tresses and I put on a shower cap for like 20 minutes. The product did absorb into my hair and didn’t just sit on my hair as I thought it would because it was so thick. I finally rinsed it out and my hair was very soft, moisturized, and I did notice that my waves and curls popped probably due to the protein in the product. I think most EB products in the Coconut Shea line have protein.
Overall, is it something I will buy again? Yeah because of price and the fact I don’t use DC’s to detangle since I typically use cleansing creams, cleansing conditioners or cowashes. I like that it is somewhat rationed in a pouch because really 1 pack is all you need!
