Product Review | Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Curl Smoothing Cream & Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme

Hey Curlies!

I know I’ve been a little shabby on my reviews latelybut I tried some products and I want to share my experience with you! I tried Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Curl Smoothing Cream and the Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme. I used them both together to acheive a twist out>>>my fave quick and easy style. I always end up doing about 10-12 twists lately with a combo of flat twists in the front. I used the products on freshly washed hair>>>applying the SCBCSC as a leave in and the MVSC as a creamy styler and sealant. I’ve used this combo a couple of times and I’m impressed!

Sweet Cocoa Bean Curl Smoothing Cream ($12 – http://www.curlmart.com) –The ingredients are great! This products instatly absorbs into my hair and it’s a great light 3rd day pick me up styler which I apply with nothing over it just to give my hair a mositure boost. I like it as a leave in because its not to heavy and not to thick although it appears very thick when you squeeze it out of the bottle. The cost is awesome at normally $12 a pop but if you can catch a sale then it’s ever better because you will definitely get your money’s worth.

I’ve used these products along with Shea Moisture’s African Black Soap Balance Conditioner as a leave in followed by the Smoothing Cream and the Vanilla Styling Creme – the LCO Method – liquid / cream / oil

Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme ($12 – http://www.curlmart.com) – This product is very creamy due to the aloe vera juice and palm oil and just immediately absorbs into my hair. The smell is very faint and I would go on to say it smells like nothing really to me but you can smell the faint natural vanilla smell. The ingredients are simple and awesome! I think this would be  great twisting butter for two strand twists because of the waxes. The cost is bad either! Overall, I think its a great moisture sealant.

Ingredients – Organic Palm Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Madagascar Vanilla, Vegetable Emulsifying Wax, Candelilla Wax, Organic Castor Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil and Potassium Sorbate

Below are my results! My hair feels very soft the next day after using this combo. I can get 2 good days out of the combo before I’m ready to re-moisturize. I used to be able to go 5-7 days but since my hair is longer>>>I find that I need to moisturize more often at a minimum every 2-3 days. It could be hand in hair syndrome too but sometimes it just feels plain dry by the 3rd day.

Have you tried this before? I would definitely recommend it to you Curlies>>>so give it a try! I am hoping Target will pick this brand up! It’s one of the most truly natural lines out here! Check out http://www.darcysbotanicals.com for more products.
