I have been dying to report on the Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter & the Aloe Whipped Butter Gel.
They both really seem to be the same consistency. I have used both and it seems they can be used separately or together as a moisturizing, sealing, leave-in combo type product.
They both have a soft hold as well for twists. I think the Aloe Whipped Butter Gel provides more of a shine though and so far that is the only difference that I noticed from the two.
Both products go on very smooth and I am able to skip using a leave in. They both have the consistency of light creamy butters (not heavy at all).
I will be using these two throughout the month when I am not using my staple Holy Grail moisturizer and twisting agent which is Oyin Handmade Whipped Pudding. This pudding has a strong hold as it is shea based.
Here is what I did today:
- Cleanser – Jessicurl Cleansing Cream (love this stuff!!! Comparable to the As I Am Cleansing Pudding but better!)
- Deep Conditioner – Curl Junkie Curl Rehab (just realized this has peppermint oil)
- Leave-In / Moisturizer / Styler / Sealer – Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter / Aloe Whipped Butter Gel (I didn’t need to use both but I used either on any section of hair. I didn’t combine them as they seem so similar…) – I used these to two strand twist or flat twist medium sized sections on wet/damp hair. I used my MyHoneyChild O’Honey Curl Mist to re-wet drying sections prior to twisting.
I’ll post results of my twist out tomorrow. Happy twisting!!!
I will definitely use up both of these butters. I can definitely see using these to re-twist on dry hair mid-week. I can’t give a verdict yet if I will add to my Holy Grail List though.
Thank you. I was debating whether or not I wanted to purchase the Aloe Whipped Butter Gel to go along with my twisting cream but nevermind. =D I wonder if they have any nice gels or something.
